Eperisone is a central muscle relaxant. It mainly acts on parts of the central nervous system such as the spinal cord and brain stem. Specifically, it inhibits spinal reflexes and relaxes muscles by regulating the multisynaptic reflex pathway. Its modes of action include inhibiting the activity of gamma-motor neurons and reducing the sensitivity of muscle spindle. Muscle spindle is a receptor to feel the change of muscle length, when its sensitivity is reduced, the impulse to the central nervous system is reduced, so that muscle tension reflex activity is weakened, to achieve the effect of muscle relaxation.
When muscles are tense, they compress the surrounding blood vessels, resulting in poor blood circulation. Eperisone relaxes the muscles, relieves blood vessel pressure, and dilates local blood vessels, thereby improving blood circulation. In addition, it may also have a certain regulatory effect on vascular endothelial cells, promoting blood flow.
