Function and Application
Cetilistat is a long-acting and potent specific gastrointestinal lipase inhibitor that acts as a therapeutic agent by forming covalent bonds with the active serine sites of the stomach and small intestine, inactivating enzymes that cannot hydrolyze dietary fats, mainly triglycerides, into absorbable free fatty acids and monacylglycerol. Undigested triglycerides cannot be absorbed by the body, reducing calorie intake and controlling weight.
