L-Tyrosine is the amino acid that makes up protein. It has ionized aromatic ring side chain and is hydrophilic. Tyrosine is produced by hydroxylation of phenylalanine in human and animal body.As a crystalline powder,  L-Tyrosine can be obtained from hydrolysates containing protein such as casein or corn. Used medically to treat hyperthyroidism or as a food additive.
