Dapagliflozin is an oral anti-diabetic medication belonging to the class of sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitors. By inhibiting the SGLT2 in the kidneys, dapagliflozin reduces the reabsorption of glucose from the urine, thereby increasing the excretion of glucose and lowering blood glucose levels.
