Product Description

Ellagic acid powder is an organic substance with a chemical formula of C14H6O8, a polyphenol dilactone, and a dimeric derivative of gallic acid. A natural polyphenol component that widely exists in various soft fruits, nuts and other plant tissues. The color reaction with ferric chloride is blue, and it is yellow when it meets sulfuric acid.

Ellagic acid can not only exist in free form, but more in condensed form (such as ellagitannin, glycoside, etc.) in nature. Ellagic acid is positive in reaction with Greiss-meger, and it is also easy to combine with metal cations such as ca2 and M. Melting point (pyridine) is greater than 360 ºC, slightly soluble in water and alcohol, soluble in alkali, pyridine and dimethyl sulfoxide, insoluble in ether.
Ellagic acid is especially rich in pomegranate plants (pomegranate leaf extract and pomegranate juice). It is a dimeric derivative of gallic acid, a polyphenolic dilactone. It can not only exist in free form, but more in condensed form (such as ellagitannin, glycoside, etc.) in nature.
