Polyether polyol (abbreviated as polyether) is an organic polymer produced by the addition reaction of an initiator (a compound containing active hydrogen groups), propylen oxide (PO), and oxide (BO) in the presence of a catalyst. The largest production of polyether is achieved by using glycerol (glycerol) as the starting agent and epoxides (usually used in combination with PO and EO). By changing the feeding method (mixed or separate), dosage ratio, and feeding order of PO and EO, various universal polyether polyols are produced.
