Huperzine A, also known as Staherb, is a natural plant alkaloid extracted from the Chinese medicinal plant Huperzia serrata, belonging to the Lycopodiaceae family. It is a potent, reversible, and highly selective second-generation acetylcholinesterase (AChE) inhibitor.

 

1. Alzheimer's Disease Treatment: Huperzine A is currently the most successfully developed drug in China for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease (senile dementia). It significantly improves cognitive function, memory retention, and memory recall.
