Narasin is a cationic ionophore and an anticoccidial agent. It is a polyether antibiotic produced by fermentation of the bacterium Streptomyces aureofaciens.

 

1. Livestock Feed Additive: Narasin is widely used as a feed additive in the poultry industry to prevent and treat coccidiosis, a parasitic disease caused by protozoa of the genus Eimeria. It is effective against various species of Eimeria that infect chickens.
