Peramivir, also known as Rapivab, is a novel cyclopentane-derived antiviral drug that specifically targets influenza viruses. It belongs to the class of neuraminidase inhibitors and acts by inhibiting the activity of the neuraminidase enzyme on the surface of influenza viruses.
